LAWRENCE, Kan.- Taylor Pike and Joy Field led the Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team at the 2018 College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Collegiate Open Water Championships on Saturday at Lone Star Lake.
Pike finished 22nd overall with a time of 1:05:28.99, while Field finished 26th with a time of 1:06:29.95 in the season-opening 5,000 meter open-water swim.
Freshman Gabby Kopenski swam the two-lap loop in 1:07:50.28, finishing 43rd. Junior Karling Hemstreet completed the course in 1:10:01.80, placing 50th.
Missouri's Audrey Guyett won the race in 1:03:06.31. The Tigers also took home the team championship. As a team, Texas A&M finished eighth overall.
